Why does TsukiGlass spell whisky without an 'e'?
You've got a keen eye! Both whisky and whiskey are correct, originating from translations of Scottish and Irish Gaelic forms of the term usquebaugh, meaning 'water of life'. It's thought that the Irish adopted the whiskey spelling to distinguish their spirit from the Scottish whisky, which was considered inferior quality in the late 1800s. Irish immigrants brought the whiskey spelling to the United States, so you'll see 'whiskey' in the United States and Ireland, and 'whisky' in Scotland, Canada, and most other regions.
